How am I suppose to live?

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.  Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV)

Do you know His example?  Have you read about it?  Are you ignoring it?  Are you living it?  What do you need to do to follow God’s example?

    Micah 6:8 –

“You mortals, the LORD has told you what is good. This is what the LORD requires from you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to live humbly with your God.”

    Luke 10:25 – 28

And a certain teacher of the law got up and put him to the test, saying, Master, what have I to do so that I may have eternal life? And he said to him, “What does the law say, in your reading of it?” And he, answering, said, “Have love for the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and for your neighbour as for yourself.” [he quoted the Torah portion known as the Sh’ma] He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”

    Alternate: Mark 12:28 – 31

One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?” Jesus answered, “The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one: you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

In the collected books of John, I saw the word “LOVE” @ 100 times in a word search. I didn’t even bother using a concordance, that was literally just searching for it by eyeball, hence the approximate.

    Some stand-out verses from John:

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.

And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we LOVE one another.
2 John 1:6 This is LOVE, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

1 John 5:2 By this we know that we LOVE the children of God, when we LOVE God and keep His commandments.
1jo 5:3 For this is the LOVE of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

1 John 2:15 Do not LOVE the world or the things in the world. If anyone LOVEs the world, the LOVE of the Father is not in him.

Yeshua speaking: John 15:9 “As the Father LOVEd Me, I also have LOVEd you; abide in My LOVE. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My LOVE, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His LOVE. This is My commandment, that you LOVE one another as I have LOVEd you. Greater LOVE has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. These things I command you, that you LOVE one another. ”

    “Love is all you need”

[Yes, I get the irony in quoting Lennon in a Jesus thread.]
