How important is it to prepare?

One weekend my son and I were certified as divers. One of the events over the weekend was when we were under water and the instructor came behind us and shut our air off. He told us he was going to do it and when it happens you know immediately. This sounds so simple but I never knew how important air was until I had none.  You can talk about it, you can know, but when it is shut off you have knowledge within your core that no one will understand unless they experience.  This lesson was only 6 feet deep.  I could not imagine if I was 60 feet under but as the class progressed you can see how they prepare you for that kind of event.

Diving is so incredible but if something goes wrong it really is all about being prepared.

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”  But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.  1 Peter 3:14-16 (NIV)

Are you prepared for what is important?  Should you think about situations prior to dealing with it?  Are you ready to be a witness?  How are you going to prepare today?
