How should I treat people that have not been nice to me?

From the very beginning people always want to get revenge?  If someone has wronged you the plan is to naturally get back at them.  If you are jealous of someone, the plan is to take.  This constant struggle while driving, going to the store, having people over to your home, and even going to a place like work or church can cause some real troubles.  How should we repay evil?

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.  Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8-9(NIV)

Have you ever thought of doing something as crazy as thinking about the most evil person you know and buying them a gift?  If there is someone in your life that all you think about is revenge this is causing you more harm than it is them.

How can you release the people that have harmed you and your life?  Is it possible?  If you do, you will inherit a blessing!

  1. Heard a story about this just last night. A teacher who had been gossiped about by a group of moms. Thankfully the Godly teacher took the high road and pressed on doing her best with the student. The situation came to a parent/teacher/administrator conference on Friday. Prayers had gone up all week by the teacher and her family. God did an amazing work. The mom appologized for her rude behavior and the meeting turned into a church invitation. Maybe that advice in 1 Peter is worth a try.
