When should you give up doing good?
Never! It seems that when you are down, you always are at a point that you can dig deeper. The key is to pick yourself back up and keep on trying.
The challenge: And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good. 2 Thessalonians 3:13 (NIV)
This passage was a warning against idleness.
Do you find yourself being so busy that it is dragging you down?
Do you do things that make you think ‘Why bother trying anymore?’.
Do you have nothing to do and are thinking , ‘What should I do?’.
The challenge: Have you ever thought of something you have always wanted to do that would help others? Go do it!

I accept that challenge.
Here’s something that helps me in the wee hours of the morning when I wonder if all this cookie baking is worth it. I remind myself that I may feel alone in my kitchen and unnoticed but that is just not true. Jesus is right there with me. I picture him sitting in the room smiling and cheering me on. He is thankful for any offering we give that helps his creation.
He recently reminded me that we can even offer our friendships as an act of worship. Those encounters with others in need may not seem like friendships that benefit you but it is time well spent. It is an act of worship. People matter to God.
