Is getting an abortion OK?

abortion, God, Love, trustI think that the real question should be, “When should I take control of what God should own?”

Based on this:  Should I take my life?  Should I take someone else’s life?  Do I think I am in complete control?

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14(NIV)

It seems to me that people are able to justify almost anything.  When you read these passages, you can see that God forms you and knows you prior to your birth.  Also, God puts a mighty work in His creations!

If you have taken control of God’s job, you need to seek forgiveness and move forward by trying to sin no more.

Do you wonder if abortion should be a choice? I do not believe it is.  We can take control but the tragedy is a lifetime of regret.

Are you trusting God with your life?  Are you trying to control what He owns? Have you put your problems at God’s feet and asked Him to own it?  Are you willing to see what He is doing and hear what He is saying?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV

I must admit that I was quite ignorant as to the whole issue of abortion. As God would have it He got me involved in the pro life movement. I never realized how much pain and regret women suffer who are post abortive. What also shocked me were the men who regretted their lost fatherhood. At times I feel like just running from it all as it is too big and too painful to deal with. It is rarely talked about in church yet the statistics are that about one in three women in church are post abortive. Many times they feel isolated and alone, afraid to ask for help and support. I pray that these men and women will see in us as fellow believers the compassion, love and forgiveness that Jesus offers to all of us who fall so short in everyway. I also pray that God will use them to tell their children and others children about the path they should never go down.
