Are the youth of today misunderstood?

This morning on a national news show, a columnist for a famous magazine and so called religious ‘expert’ said that he’s

mohammadali

most concerned that the young people of today are politicizing religion. He explained by saying they are caught up in beliefs about marriage, gay rights, women’s rights, etc. and not about the belief in God. In other words, he feels that young people believe in God only if they are conservative and vote one-way.

I think that he’s categorizing without actually talking to young people. The youth of today are more intelligent than he makes them out to be!! Yes, there are some that may fall into the type that he’s expressing; but, there are many more that make up youth groups in churches, youth groups on mission trips throughout the world, Christian youth in the work place, Christian youth who intern for politicians, and Christian youth who love to play video games with their friends and family.

And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3 (NIV)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
