Can you not see the forest for the trees?

Zach Dischner

While meeting with a young member of the church staff, he said something that I had not heard before. “There are those that spend too much time on the golf course and too little time in the soup kitchen.”  He is so right!! Too many people spin their wheels on unimportant things and too little time on important issues.

It’s sad, but in this day and time, there are many who need help. There are too many homeless and hungry. They are not just in distant places. They are members of our churches, they work in our companies, and they are children in our schools.  You may be one of the many who needs help.

Take time to help others. Some locations that aid others are: the Samaritans, churches, food banks, shelters, children’s homes, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc..

Just open you eyes and your hearts and you will see the forest through the trees.

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.  43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”  Mark 12:41-44
