What is God’s relationship with people?

There’s a very simple answer to that question. In fact, the gospel can be explained in one verse from the Bible.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 6:23

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16
