Do you still not understand?

Feet in water, get it, boat, forgot, supply, provideIn Mark 8:16-21, the disciples are talking about having no food for the crowds. Jesus overhears them and asked them about the other times that this happened.

They discussed this with one another and said, “It is because we have no bread.”  Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened?  Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember?  When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”  “Twelve,” they replied.  “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”  They answered, “Seven.”  He said to them, “Do you still not understand?”  Mark 8:16-21

These disciples had forgotten the power of faith. Jesus had supplied all the needs for those 5000 and for the 4000. He’d asked God for an abundant supply and the crowds were fed.

God has supplied His faithful for centuries. No, if you ask Him for the biggest house, the shiniest car, newest tech gadget, etc… don’t expect that!! Instead, do you have a roof over your head, food in your mouth, and the love of family and friends? If so, you are wealthy beyond measure—your needs have been met!

Share your ‘wealth’ with others…Help ‘feed’ them with food, prayers, love, and scripture.

Who have you fed today?
