If it feels good, should you do it?
Have you ever seen a little child quickly get upset when they don’t get what they want? A lot of times these types of children are the ones that you do not want to be around. When you are around them and if anyone says the word “No”, you never know what is going to happen.
It seems that some adults are like this as well. They get everything they want and they do not care about the ramifications of what it will do to their family or friends. People like this make it so that you would rather not hang out with them ever again because they have hurt you in the process of taking care of themselves. These people make it hard to ever trust anyone. I think the reason for this is because they are just about pleasing themselves with no regard to anyone but themselves.
Doing things that feel good is not wrong. But doing things that break commitments or take away from others to serve your self can become a problem.
Do you know children or adults like this? Are you a person that cannot stop doing for yourself? Do you do things to make yourself feel good? Have you broken commitments or taken from others so that you can feel good? Where is your treasure?
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 (NIV)
