Are there something’s you can only do if God is with you?
YES! The interesting thing is that you cannot just think in terms of where you live, from self, or what is going on in your life. So many times when I listen to the news people make decisions with what is going on just in their neighborhood rather than thinking how it would impact everywhere else.
A thought would be if you deal with a major issue in your state, country, or life such as job loss or health issues. We immediately think of me, I, or how do I deal with this rather than saying how can I serve you in whatever circumstances I am in.
One time I was in a car accident and no one got hurt but me. At the time I wondered if I was going to be OK and thank God I did not have any long lasting effects. The moment the accident occurred a person in the back of the car started praying to God out loud. It was amazing. The voice of someone going straight to God for help put the entire event into perspective immediately. If this did not happen I would have not taken the path that I did. With this reset on perspective I thought while sitting there bleeding: what we are here for, how we should respond, and taking it straight to the Father, it helped me ask God to keep my eyes open to see what He had in store for us. I was able to talk with the kid that hit us and tell Him it was OK. We were able to pray for Him. I met so many people that night. Ambulance drivers, nurses, doctors, and I was able to see my daughter help me and others get through the event. Later on I was able to talk and pray with the mother of the kid that hit me. She had so much fear that we were going to press charges.
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NIV)
I hope we all have eyes to see when we are week, suffer hardships or persecutions, or deal with difficulties that we delight in the fact that we are incapable and God is completely capable.
What are you going through? Are you able to stop and delight in God? Are you going to look at issues from a bigger picture than yourself, location, or world view?
