How important is your marriage?
Based on how people are living today, I think the answer to this question would be ,“Not very important.” The issue is that people do not realize that when they get married it is as if they were getting ,what I would call, a ‘tattoo on the soul’. You have it engraved on your soul for life.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:6 (NIV)
When you made the oath of marriage before God, He sees that you are ‘one flesh’. So treating your spouse as yourself becomes as fulfilling as taking care of yourself. This seems so basic; however, I hear people say , “What about me?”.
Is a couple that has a physical union through sexual intercourse considered to be married in the eyes of God? Are you focused on yourself? Are you willing to love your spouse as if they are your own flesh? How can you be a better spouse today? Go do it now!!
