How should you deal with a crazy manager?
In my lifetime, I have had some interesting managers at various jobs. Some of these managers even appeared to be crazy! On the other hand, people are always looking for something better. Due to the work environment or a specific person, we are always thinking that if we work somewhere else, our job will be better. When you have a manager that seems crazy, what do you think about this passage?
Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ. Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are slave or free. Ephesians 6:7-8 (MSG)
This is a terrible statement, however, think about it: God created the crazy manager (boss) but have you ever thought ‘Did He really?’ We know God created everything, but sometimes, when you live day to day, you stop thinking about a person being a ‘God created’ person but rather an evil entity.
What if you look past the person and do your job by serving God? How can you respectfully obey your earthly master? How can you look at everyone as God’s created beings?
