Have you ever asked: “How could a person do that?” Isn’t it interesting that we can think that we are better than someone else. We believe that we could never do something as evil as other people. Even while I write this, I think about things I have heard and how there really is no way I could do some things I have heard about. So, how can we think we are better than others? On the other hand, some of us think we are not really good enough for anyone. What did Jesus say about this?
A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. Luke 18:18-19 (NIV)
Here is a ruler that asks a basic question and Jesus levels it with saying no one is good but God. This implies that if Jesus is good he must be God. So, based on this if you are not God you are not good.
Does this level all humans on the same scale? Does the good in you come from God alone? Do you seek God or do you seek yourself?Do You Believe?
