Should you go to church?
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16 (NIV)
I once was leaving a church service and noticed some friends that had not been there for a long time. All of them were crying. I went to them and asked them what was wrong. They told me that they had not been to a church in a long time. I asked them if it was that bad. They said, “No, it was that good!!”
What I found out from them was that when you are away from corporate worship, a part of you is missing. It seems to be a part of you that needs to be fulfilled as a believer in Christ.
In America, I have talked with many people who have been treated badly at a church so they do not think they need to go. In studying this passage as well as talking with friends, I believe going to church is an act of something that affects the spirit in a positive way.
Do you think you should go to a church? Is church a place you are willing to go? Has a person made it to where you will not go?
Remember, it is not the person but the message of Christ that must be there. If you count on Christ for everything you will not be disappointed!
