How do you find your way back to Christ?

running, Christ, coming, seeking, sin, loveThis question was asked by a ‘Do You Really Believe’ reader.

For me, I have felt for years that I was struggling toward Christ.  When I sin or fall short I am always trying to return back to Christ.  Do I need to work toward Him?  Have I done something so bad that He would not accept me?  Was I too evil for God to allow me back into His will?

What I have found out is that He is right next to me. I am not coming back to Christ because He is there the entire time.  He stands at the door and knocks.  He is willing to help me fight for life in truth and in spirit and all I need to do is to acknowledge Him.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20 (NIV)

Also, the following verse is in the Old Testament and repeated in Hebrews 13:5:

“Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.”  Deuteronomy 31:6 (MSG)

Do you feel like you are all-alone and need to go back to God?  Are you listening to the lies that you are not good enough?  Are you willing to accept God’s grace?  Are you planning on asking for God’s help but continue to sin intentionally?

Thank God for being there!  Confess your sins daily!  Ask God to give you the eyes to see and the ears to hear His will and to have the strength to live it!
