Do you really have what it takes when you do not have a clue?
Jesus had just fed 5000, walked on water, and now was telling everyone He was the bread of life. At this point the following occurs:
From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. John 6:66 (NIV)
Why do you think they walked away? It seems that these disciples could not understand what Jesus was explaining, which made it too hard for them to comprehend, so they walked away. Do you think a true disciple seeks the Master but may not understand everything? Is what you know about God just based on what you think or do you seek Him in Spirit? Where does faith come in?
While some of the disciples walked, Jesus asked them if anyone one else wanted to go. This is what Peter said:
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:68-69(NIV)
Who is the holy one in your life? Where are you going? When life gets hard, what are you going to do? When you do not understand are you willing to seek God and not self?
Lord, please help us know You and Your will!
