What is your Faith? Are you ready to let the Lord fight?

The Victory that David experienced in his fight against Goliath was made possible by the faith he expressed when he said: “The battle is the Lord’s” (1 Samuel 17:47).  Once David realized that he did not have to fight in his own strength, then he knew that any kind of weapon would do – even a shepherd’s sling.

The same is true today in the Christian’s fight against the forces of evil in the world.  The battle is still the Lord’s and must be fought in His strength.  That is why Paul refers to the battle in the words: “Fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12).  Always see the battle as a fight of faith.  Your strength lies in the strength of your faith.  When Paul lists the armor that the Christian is to wear in the fight, he says: “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16).

If you want to be a strong Christian in God’s battle, then, strengthen your faith.  Bring your mind to bear on all the teaching of the scripture and believe it with all your heart.  Learn to pray the prayer of faith – the prayer that expects answers and has no trace of doubt lurking behind it.
