What is alive and active?

‘For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.’  Hebrews 4:12-13 (NIV)

I hear people say that the Bible is contradicting, incomplete, or just boring.  When I really question some of the people that say this, the answer usually is  that they have been told this or have just  never read the Bible.  Just as “Christians” can do this, people seem to take parts of the Bible out of context and this can make it look like it’s contradictive or incomplete.  Some thoughts:

Should you dig into the Bible?  Should you ask God in faith to allow the Bible to penetrate your soul, spirit, joints, and marrow?  Should you let it judge your thoughts and attitude of the heart?  Do you believe anything is hidden from God or are you living a life that shows you know God is looking at you?  Do you believe that you will be held accountable for all you do?
