Are you really aware of ‘time’?

I’ve lived in my home for forty years. We moved in when it was brand new, and like most things including myself, its age is showing!! A lot of things have happened during these four decades in both my personal and my professional life: job changes, aging, births, deaths, weddings, and illnesses; to name a few.

Forty years (four decades) was the length of time that Moses led God’s chosen people through the wilderness. Many changes occurred to them during this time; some gave birth, some died, all aged.

The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. Deuteronomy 2:7

The LORD’s anger burned against Israel and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation of those who had done evil in his sight was gone. Numbers 32:13

Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness. Numbers 14:33

He led them out of Egypt and performed wonders and signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea and for forty years in the wilderness. Acts 7:36

Yet the LORD says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.” Deuteronomy 29:5

What’s happened in your life over 1 decade? Over 2 decades? Forty years?  Has ‘time’ given you a better perspective on what to do with your life?  Are you wasting time?

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3
