Do you like change?
Are you willing to take risks? I don’t mean sky-diving or bungee jumping; however, I do mean taking the risk of changing your life in response to God’s call. If you’re like me, you have to be ‘hit over the head’ to realize that God is calling you to do something. If you listen and trust, you’ll be where He wants you to be and that’s a much better place than you could ever choose.
Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” Matthew 14:25-33
Peter took a risk when Jesus said, ‘Come ahead.’ Peter jumped out of the boat in faith then his humanity took over and he became afraid. When he trusted Jesus, he became forever changed.
When we take the risk that pushes us out of our comfort zone, we become ‘change-makers’. If you are in a relationship with Jesus, change is part of the deal and you are no longer in control– He is! And, that is the way it should be. To follow Jesus is to be changed by Him.
Someone once said,’ If you’re not dead, you’re not done.’
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
What are you willing to do in taking a risk for His Glory?
For we are God’s fellow workers. 1 Corinthians 3:9
We cannot stay put and move with God. He is always moving forward.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
Can you trust Jesus with the results of what happens in your life?
