The older I get the harder it is to trust anyone. It seems that the more you deal with everyone you become more skeptical. I started to think about why we as humans do this and I feel like it is due to people taking advantage of you to the point that you have to put your guard up. The only reason we put our guard up is because you do not want more people walking all over you.
And then I thought of Jesus. He was walked all over. He then put His life into God and forgave the people that walked all over Him. This forgiveness is still there for people like you and me. Should I ask God to be more like this?
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)
