Do you pray?

Do you believe that prayer is an event or a lifestyle?

Do you talk to God when you need something?

Do you use the same words over and over ( babble) while praying?

Do you pray from your heart?

In the movie Shadowlands, about the life of C.S. Lewis, a man named Harry asked C.S. (Jack) the following:

Harry: Christopher can scoff, Jack, but I know how hard you’ve been praying; and now God is answering your prayers.

His reply:
C. S. Lewis: That’s not why I pray, Harry. I pray because I can’t help myself. I pray because I’m helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn’t change God, it changes me.

If you are in constant communion with God, you will grow in faith. We cannot do this life journey, with all of the toils and tribulations, without Him!

Jesus taught his disciples how to pray.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.  But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.   And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.   Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.  “This, then, is how you should pray:“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation,but deliver us from the evil one.’ Matthew 6:5-13

Take time to talk (pray) with God. You will receive the peace that surpasses all understanding. (And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7)
