Where is the fight?
All my life I have gotten caught up in arguments with myself, others, and everything in between. Over time I have seen that my actions do less than my prayer when I’m trying to gain ground in life. Basically what I am saying is that trusting God in events that I really do not have control over is the way to deal with conflict rather than trying to control it on my own.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:11-13(NIV)
An example is when another person and I were arguing. I tried to convince them to see what I was talking about. I continued and the more I tried the worse the situation got. At a point in my life when all hope was gone I found myself alone and said to God that my words and actions are and will do nothing. God, you can only control the situation. In putting my trust in God I have seen some incredible things happen. Even though the resolution may not be what I wanted, I have seen God do things that are nothing but God! I have seen God change me as well as the hearts of people that I thought could never have been changed.
Are you in the full armor of God? How do you deal with others? Do you believe that you are fighting with flesh and blood or with rulers, authorities, powers, and spiritual forces of evil? Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see?
