What do you do when you sin?
The Book of Leviticus (the third book in the Old Testament of the Bible) is filled with ‘what to do if you do something wrong’. In other words, it spells out regulations and laws. If you sin, you must confess and offer a blood sacrifice.
..”when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for them for their sin. Leviticus 5:5-6
The Bible records centuries of people sinning and sacrificing animals to gain forgiveness.
The New Testament tells us about how God changed what we all need to do when we sin. (And we all sin!)
God sent His Son. God sacrificed His Son. That sacrifice is our gift of redemption.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9
Have you accepted His gift?
Do you confess your sins?
Do you know His Love and forgiveness?
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 1 John 4:16
