How free are you really?

Every time I think of you—and I think of you often!—I thank God for your lives of free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There’s no end to what has happened in you—it’s beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your lives.  1 Corinthians 1:4-6 (MSG)

When I read this passage, I think of so much.  This past week, in America, we celebrated Thanksgiving.  This is a time where we can reflect on how very blessed we are.  On this day, we eat so much food that we almost get sick.  After this special meal, some people start shopping for Christmas.  They shop all night and half of the next day.  I have done it and I always feel so tired.  This week I have already noticed that retailers are starting with their sales at the beginning of the week, prior to Thanksgiving.  I think it will get to the point where retailers try to get buyers to shop for Christmas all year long.  I digress…

Where I live, I almost have unlimited resources and can do whatever I want about my faith.  As I have traveled in different parts of the world and have talked about my faith, I have seen an interesting difference in my life compared to theirs.   When they are told about the Jesus Christ, they have to spend some time to really think about the overall impact of becoming a believer.  In some of the countries that I have visited,  this impact can result in total rejection and even death.

If you woke up this morning and knew your faith was a decision that could kill you or if you woke up wondering where will you get a meal this next week, how would you respond?

If you are still full from Thanksgiving I want to challenge you right now.   Doyoureallybelieve.com is asking for you to sponsor a child in a country that is not as fortunate as you.  Select the link below and sponsor someone in need.

World Vision

If you do not want to sponsor a child there are some other options.  On the top of this link above you can buy a gift that will help a group.  You can buy a goat and 2 chickens, 5 ducks, or even a well.

Whatever you do, do something, please!!  I promise that if you do something for someone else right now, you will truly be free…
