In the 1992 Olympic games, Derek Redmond went down with an injury while running the 400 meter semi-final. Instead of leaving the field, he finished the race with his father’s help.
The official record of this race states that Redmond did not finish. However, this has become one of the most remembered moments of Olympic history.
