How are you being deceived?

hawk, flying, shadow, majesticImagine hiking through the mountains, when a giant shadow covers you. Looking up, you are awed by the majesty of the hawk soaring high above. You consider his mighty wing span, the sharp intellect that must be visible in his eyes as he surveys the horizon. He is strength and beauty with the fearless heart of a warrior. As he descends, you hold your breath hoping for a closer view of his magnificence only to discover that it isn’t a majestic hawk at all. What has landed in front of you is a hideous vulture seeking dead carcasses to devour.

Sometimes what we see as a thing of beauty becomes an abomination the enemy uses to ensnare us. Be very cautious of questionable things that somehow seem enticing and beautiful, for the enemy clothes himself in deception; he masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). In reality, he is seeking to deceive and devour you. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Choose life to the fullest through Christ!
