Are you afraid of the dark?

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

We should all be afraid of darkness. There is a difference between the dark of night and the darkness of evil. Darkness is a place without God. Only through faith and acceptance of Jesus are we promised escape from the darkness.

On a recent trip to the North Carolina Mountains, we all decided to hike the trail to the top of the mountain. The views were beautiful! It was a wonderful time together; however, we hadn’t planned on the early sunset. Being on the top of a mountain in the dark is not a very good idea! Having some light solved the problem. That small beam from a flashlight showed us the way.

Jesus is the way and the light.
