When was the Word written?
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
My pastor has challenged the church family to read the Bible in 1 year…365 days. He’s asked that we all make a commitment to do so. Everyday, we are to read from the Old Testament, the New Testament and a Psalm.
We eat three meals a day. Some of us eat more and some eat less; but, our bodies ‘tell’ us that we need nourishment.
Do we have to make a commitment to eat food? Why do we need to make a commitment to take in spiritual food (reading the Bible)?
…for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:5
Years ago, my great Uncle Brad, who read the Bible daily throughout his life, decided to read the Bible directly from the Hebrew. He taught himself and diligently translated everyday. Now that really did take a commitment!
Are you willing to commit to reading the Bible daily?
Remember that Spiritual food is as necessary as edible food. Both strengthen us! Read through the Bible
