People seem to hide when they sin. If they cannot hide, they seem to run from people that will hold them accountable or just lie to get out of the accountability. This seems to be the case every time ,no matter how big or small the sin is.
Recently I had a very close friend do something that I would say felt ‘Biblical’. What I mean is that when I read about King David, Judas, and/or Moses, I see things that I do not believe would happen today. Call it naive but this is how I feel. Examples of what I am talking about are adultery, betrayal, or even murder. When you read about these things, you think that some people would never do any of them. But as their life falls apart, they go down some avenues in which they believe no one will ever know.
This is what the Bible says:
Mark well that God doesn’t miss a move you make; he’s aware of every step you take. The shadow of your sin will overtake you; you’ll find yourself stumbling all over yourself in the dark. Death is the reward of an undisciplined life; your foolish decisions trap you in a dead end. Proverbs 5:21-23 (MSG)
Do you care if God does not miss a move? Are you lying to yourself? Are you lying to others? Do you think no one will catch you? Do you know that the shadow of your sin will overtake you? Are you willing to accept the ‘reward’ of death? Do you understand that no matter what you have done, God will accept you?
