Have you ever lost your job or had a life-changing event?

religion, blame, sacrifice, trust, free will, God's will, wonder, acceptOne of the hardest things to do is to hand over everything to God. What if when we lose a job or someone or if something happens we do not want, we respond with, “This could not have happened unless it was allowed by God?” and then accept it.

An example of this was when Jesus responded to the government and did the following:

“Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?” Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.” John 19:10-11 (NIV)

Jesus’s life on being killed for no reason came from God. Mary’s son was murdered in front of her and it came from above. All the disciples lost a friend that they loved. Or did it? If any of these three groups would have blamed and rejected God how do you think it would have turned out. I’m not saying this went easy. Jesus cried blood, Mary mourned for her son, and the disciples scrambled a bit while dealing with this. But the overall consensus was that they accepted God’s will.

This acceptance was the launch of love and peace that you can only experience if you accept Jesus Christ as a free gift of salvation. It was also the launch of a direction in religious beliefs that has caused many to die and continue to die.

Do you blame God for the pain you deal with or do you accept His will for your life? Do you reject Jesus? Are you getting in trouble all the time? Have you laid down your life and accepted His plan? Are you willing to be a true follower of Jesus Christ?

I pray that I will be able to turn from sin and seek God; and, no matter what happens, I will accept it as a plan that will glorify Him. Are you willing to do the same?

Is it time to give it up?
