Are you a pig or a chicken for breakfast?

Crazy question but someone asked me this today.  The chicken brings some eggs to the breakfast meal but the pig is all in.  When I heard this I thought of how true this is.  So many times we are half in what we do rather than all in!

True and False Disciples

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. The Wise and Foolish Builders

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

This post is really difficult for me.  I struggle with what I should do but do not do it! (Romans 7) These passages are from Jesus and it is clear that He has told us how to live both by word and action.  Jesus seems to not be tolerant of people that are hypocrites.  He makes it clear that it is our choice to accept Him in faith and then for us to do what He states out of obedience.

What makes it hard for me is that I ask myself regularly if I am all in or am I just offering a couple of eggs?

Do you say Lord, Lord and call upon His name and do not even know Him?  Do you put Christ words into practice?  Are you preparing for a storm with a solid foundation?  Do you listen to Jesus’s authority?  Do you really believe?
