Have you ever made a sacrifice?

D-Day: The Normandy Invasion, sacrifice, money, yourself, blessedIn the Old Testament of the Bible, men were required to sacrifice animals at the altar for a blood offering to ‘wash away their sin’. The book of Leviticus, which was written by Moses as instructed by God, tells man what to do to repent of their sins. The 3rd chapter in Leviticus is an example of sacrifice or offerings.

In the New Testament of the Bible, God sent his Son as the sacrifice for our sins. His blood washes away our sin..if we believe that He is our Savior. An example of this is:

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,   1 Peter 3:18

What have you sacrificed? Have you made a sacrifice of time, money, or yourself? Have you volunteered to help others? Have you taught a Sunday school class, coached a youth group, taken food to someone that’s home bound, sent a ‘get well’ card, visited someone in the hospital, or taken a mission trip?

Doing any of these things are not necessary to becoming saved; but, once you become a child of God, you want to do for others. You will ‘sacrifice’ your time, your efforts, and your money. In return, you will be blessed beyond all measure!
