Who or What is your guide?
The other day while driving I found that the map that I’d printed off the computer was wrong and I was lost! Simple enough. On my cell phone I looked up the store’s phone number, called them and wrote down the new directions. I also used the map on my phone, which gives moment to moment instructions on which way to go.
Years ago, this would have been impossible. I remember my father using the paper fold up map and instructing my mother (the driver) on which road to take. He was the GPS.
What “map” do you use in going through life? Who or what do you depend on to be your guide through life?
Consider the following ‘guidelines’:
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the LORD your God will gather you and bring you back. Deuteronomy 30:4
For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you…. Deuteronomy 20:4
So…..It’s really simple…the Best ‘map’/ ‘guide’ for you is His Holy Word.. the Bible.
It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the LORD his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees. Deuteronomy 17:19
